Tips on flying to Dallas
After booking your flight to Dallas, you’ll have to figure out exactly what you’re doing there and how you’re going to get around.
Dallas Airports: There are quite a few options for airports when booking your Dallas flights, but there are really two main choices. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is the catch-all airport for the area, and most travellers fly into there. It’s the second largest airport in the USA, and the third biggest airport in the world. The other, Dallas Love Field, only has flights that go to the American south, states like Missouri and New Mexico.
Dallas Transportation: When you travel to Dallas, you’ll probably be using the Dallas Area Rapid Transit, or DART. These trains can get you around via four different lines, the Red Line, Blue Line, Green Line, and Orange Line. Dallas is a decent walking city, though, so try to explore on foot as often as possible. Otherwise, you’ll be using a car service most of the time.
Things to do in Dallas: If you time it right, you can visit Dallas at the same time the State Fair of Texas is happening. Like everything in Texas, this state fair is a behemoth, and has been happening every year since 1886. It’s regarded across the USA as the biggest and best State Fair of them all. College football, carnival rides and games, auto shows, and gut-busting fare foods are all part of the experience.
Food in Dallas: The food in Dallas, Texas is legendary at its best. They treat barbeque like it’s not just a craft, but an art, and you can taste the difference in every bite. Nowhere in the USA cook's barbeque like Texas, and nowhere in Texas cook's barbeque quite like Dallas. Besides that, they have incredible and authentic Mexican food, and that classic combination of cuisine cultures, Tex-Mex.
